    Yelawolf’s 2011 official studio album — it’s great!

This CD was released in November 2011 with 15 songs and a total minute length of 57:22.  I am not a big Yelawolf fan, but this CD here is absolutely amazing...it is his second official studio album.  The CD blends POP music with RAP music perfectly...and none of it is cheesy or lame.  Even some of the ‘lamer’ songs are still good.  The album also is not too raunchy lyrically, which I greatly appreciate.  I recommend this CD for any rap fan, it’s great.

Ok, so Yelawolf may have been around for awhile behind the scenes, but this is his first album that I've actually seen advertised at major retail stores. I first started listening to Yela when Trunk Muzik came out. I was so impressed with that album that I had to check out the new one. Overall, the CD is very solid. There are probably 4 or 5 stand-alone hits, a few more songs worth listening to, and just a couple that get routinely skipped. Now that most of the hip hop "all-stars" are slowing down or just producing, it's nice to see a new artist on the scene keeping things exciting.

The Yela one has distanced himself from Radioactive, as the contours of Slumerican have become more clear in his mind. Maybe the hodge-podge of second and third voices on this album -- hired guns brought on to kill a track -- don't match his vision of how the Famous Family stars & straps should fly. So be it -- we'll keep waiting for the often-promised "Love Story" to drop, just like we waited for this one.In the meantime, there are tracks on Radioactive -- "Let's Roll", "Hard White" "Made in the USA" -- that model what Yelawolf does best: anthems of defiance, the valediction to mourning, and a swagger that barely conceals the rapper's amazement that his long-shot, hare-brained schemes are coming to a juicy fruition.
