I used to keep a shallow pan at the drain hose from the bottom of the freezer, but it had to be emptied every 15 minutes and made a mess in my basement. This tubing runs about 15 ft. from my freezer to my sump pump. I also added a "T" adapter at the beginning of the run to allow air in the line as it's draining.
