I'm looking forward to figuring out more practical uses for this tool. Pros: The build quality is superb - it's been smacked around in the garage a good bit already and I'm confident it will hold up to a decent drop. The imaging is sensitive, detailed and clear. I was already able to identify a sticking brake on my van. It's sensitive enough to be able to pick up where someone stepped for a good bit. The software can calculate and identify the hot and cold points as well as the temperature at the center. You can turn these off and on easily. Pictures and video are easy to take and review. The battery lasts a good while and it has an auto shut off. This is nice for being able to just put it down without worrying about going through too much battery. Cons: I wish it had a reference for emissivity values for different objects in the software or on the exterior. I'm going to print out a small table and tape it on. There are settings for emissivity, temperature and distance. I didn't see these explained during my first look through the manual. I'm not sure what temperature and distance adjusts. The display can get a little laggy with the point calculations running. I'd imagine a little better processor would help, but I don't have a good gauge for how intense the image processing is. It doesn't inhibit work, just not as smooth. It's a non issue if you turn off the post processing. I wish I could delete files using the on board image browser. I'll try to keep this review updated as I find more use cases. Review: Good thermal imager - The first unit I received worked well, but did not accept firmware updates. TOPDON worked with me to assess the problem. It was determined that the unit was faulty and should be replaced. TOPDON expeditiously replaced the failed unit. Shipping took a while because it travelled across the country and had to go by surface since there was a Li ion battery. TOPDON provided the shipper and carried the charges. They were good to work with. The TC004 is a good IR imager for the price. I have watched microbolometer array thermal imagers for years. This is the best thermal imager available for the price having a focal plane that is 256x192 pixels. Comparably priced devices generally have smaller arrays so less resolution in their field of view. The TC004 is a handheld unit with a pistol-grip type of handle. It is sturdy and well made. I like this better than a device that plugs into a smart phone. It is more stable and easier to point and shoot. It has a ½-20 thread in the handle bottom so it can be mounted on a tripod. Very convenient for stability. The battery life is excellent. I have not had it run down. I find when charged, it will run for quite a while. The manual is pretty lean. The first 15 pages are in English. The remaining 85 pages are in other languages, clearly an international product. The imager can take stills and video. Associated with the camera is a free downloaded software package, TDView that runs on PC Windows 7, 10 and 11. Thermal analysis can be done with TDView of acquired still images whether taken remotely or while tethered to the PC using TDView. Video taken with TDView while the TC004 is tethered is in .irv format and can be post processed for thermal analysis by extracting stills from the played back video. Video acquired remotely is in .h264 format and can only be viewed in TDView, but not post processed for temperature analysis. Overall, this is an excellent device for the price. I acquired mine on a Christmas sale. I give it 5 stars. This a helpful device for assessing heat leaks in my house. Scary! It has other interesting uses too. I recommend this as a useful addition to any measurement toolkit. ## Features - Larger Display, Clearer Decisions: TC004 features a 3.5-inch display that provides a wider and more comfortable viewing experience, making it easier to identify hot spots and temperature differences quickly during daily inspections - Sharper Thermal Images: With a 256×192 infrared resolution enhanced by TISR technology up to 512×384, TC004 captures sharp and detailed thermal images, allowing you to detect subtle temperature variations accurately and make confident decisions on the first pass - Pinpoint Your Inspection Target: A built-in red laser pointer clearly indicates the measurement area, helping you quickly match the thermal image with the real-world target and locate anomalies more efficiently during inspections - Store More, Worry Less: Equipped with 64GB of built-in storage, TC004 allows you to store thousands of images and videos, ensuring complete documentation throughout the workday without interruptions - Wireless Connectivity, Faster Reporting: Integrated Wi-Fi enables fast, cable-free transfer to the TopInfrared mobile app, allowing you to sync files instantly, perform in-depth analysis, and generate professional reports more efficiently - Built Tough for Field Work: Built for real-world environments, TC004 features IP54-rated protection against dust and splashes, 2-meter drop resistance, and an integrated LED light to ensure clear visibility in dark or confined inspection areas ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | Customer Reviews | 4.6 out of 5 stars 858 Reviews | ## Product Details - **Color:** Black - **Connectivity Technology:** wired - **Video Capture Resolution:** 1080p - **Water Resistance Level:** Not Water Resistant - **Zoom Type:** Optischer Zoom ## Images ![- TOPDON TC004 3.5" Thermal Imaging Camera, -4°F~1022°F Temp Range - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71M5FCZepDL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Size** options. ## Questions & Answers **Q: Can it provide a constant color gradient for specific temperature ranges? I was blown away by just how much additional detail this device offers and can't speak highly enough about the utility. Specifically, I use a laser temperature gun to identify brake, intake, header/exhaust, and tire segment temperatures on race day to configure the vehicle and ensure that we're operating safely. This device not only allowed us to visualize and immediately differentiate the different segments, but to also identify hot, cold and target spots all at once saving time. We found more applications around the house for various "handyman" tasks. We'd installed new thermal panels on our garage door to help cut down the heat and were able to instantly and wholistically quantify the temperature drop between the insulated and uninsulated panels. It also allowed us to immediately visualize gaps in the panels and leakage without spending a half hour hunting around the panels taking a multitude of measurements and likely missing data. We also used the device to identify deficiencies in our home insulation (brand new house) which created huge value as this is what professional inspectors charge much more to do, and allowed us to support our argument with our homebuilder to address deficiencies. This task alone single-handedly paid off the device, and we haven't even gotten started identifying leaks and drafts. Beyond the shear fun of using the device, the very convenient form factor in your hand, multiple color filters to visualize the data, option to store video/still images on board and transfer to the PC (micro SD included!!!) the solid battery life and the very ample screen, we found a lot of utility and can't wait to find more projects to apply it to. ## Frequently Bought Together - TOPDON TC004 Thermal Imaging Camera, 320 x 240 TISR Resolution, 256 x 192 IR High Resolution, 12-Hour Battery Life Handheld Infrared Camera with PC Analysis and Video Recording Supported, 16GB SD Card - General Tools MMD4E Digital Moisture Meter, Water Leak Detector, Moisture Tester, Pin Type, Backlit LCD Display With Audible and Visual High-Medium-Low Moisture Content Alerts, Grays - Klein Tools ET140 Pinless Moisture Meter for Non-Destructive Moisture Detection in Drywall, Wood, and Masonry; Detects up to 3/4-Inch Below Surface --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.kg/products/511322634-topdon-tc004-3-5-thermal-imaging-camera-4-f-1022](https://www.desertcart.kg/products/511322634-topdon-tc004-3-5-thermal-imaging-camera-4-f-1022) --- *Product available on Desertcart Kyrgyzstan* *Store origin: KG* *Last updated: 2026-10-07*
