The one thing this gives is the ability to leave one pointing somewhere like a CCTV setup. Now my little angel can spy on us watching TV all by himself and note down any time I get up to make a cuppa. The issue has always been that the range on these is never good enough and they soon break up over 100M. This means you can actually hear what they're saying half the time without need the walkie talkies at all!
