Review: Make sure you know you really need them - I've ordered two sets of these Boom Mats (6x9 and 4 inch). All arrived on time and well packed, but... After installing it on my car with amplified 6x9 JBL GTO 938 elliptic speakers, I didn't notice any sound quality improvement apart from new rattle sound. As someone said previously, they are good if you have amplified sub-woofer and cut your boom mat protected speakers HPF to at least 125Hz as otherwise mat volume (like litres and cubic inches) restriction won't allow them to move as freely as they should. If you allow your speakers to reproduce full frequency range with these mats, they will be torn apart very quickly. The thing I did notice same day is my JBLs started to overheat, when listened on moderate to high volumes. 4" boom mats didn't even fit my 10cm holes... All of the above makes 50 euro investment an absolute waist of money as I had to cut holes in these mats to fit them and they are not going to be replaced... It is not what I have expected, but it is all my fault - learn from it. :)

**Q: I need speakers for a 1997 crown Victoria front and back**
A: I recommend getting some speakers

**Q: Are they like a box to make bass better?**
A: I do feel like the bass is more solid and better and eliminates the "boxy" sound that the door enclosure normally produces. I think it eliminates undesirable resonances that distord the clarity of the sound.  If I had to chose, I would install them again.  One warning, they come in different sizes and you may need to cut them to fit your door cavity.  When I cut the first baffle, it was a bit lose and then it produced an undesired vibration between the plastic of the cavity and the foam baffle where they were both surfaces were barely touching.  To correct this, I cut the next baffles in a way that they fitted tighter in the cavity and eliminated the noise produced by the vibration.

**Q: How thick are they?**
A: In some vehicles where the speakers mount on a middle steel panel and the whole shebang is then pressed against a speaker grill molded into the inner upholstered door panel, check the clearance carefully, as it varies a lot and this little thing can add enough to make a firm panel fitment a bit difficult at that corner. You can always trim the plastic grille area. This is rare, but might be important.

**Q: Would I / should I use these if I am mounting the speakers in individual cans?**
A: I've noticed less pronounced lower frequencies, which is ok for me in trade-off as I use it to combat damging effects of water leakage from a bad window seal. If by 'can' you mean a designated enclosure; I would skip this and line with polyfill if anything. In a bare door cavity you should expect achieve cancellation of the reverb from highs and mids bouncing off metal. These are essentially 'individual cans'.

Short story: useful to reduce frame rattle and to protect speakers in trunks, but sound difference is user preference. Long review I bought a set of these (one order comes with two units) to test with new rear speakers in an 07 Corolla. They most likely will fit the magnets for your aftermarket speakers, I was installing JL 6x9s And they fit with about .5-.75 of an inch left between the magnet and the bottom. Personally, I cut the bottom out of them. After testing one speaker with the baffle and the other without, cycling between left and right output on the HU, the baffle seems too small of an enclosure for my speakers to really have decent bass. I cut out the bottom and a bit of the sides, still using the edges as a vibe absorber between the speakers metal and the car's frame as to not cause rattle and the sides stayed to help protect the speakers and wires from things being tossed in the trunk.
