Great value for money as we could watch it time and again!! - I bought this as a family treat to watch over Christmas. We had watched the series when it was originally on the TV and had loved it. Although having seen it all before, we still loved it just as much as when we first viewed it. In fact I could watch it again now. It's such brilliant writing and acting. The characters are believable and you care about them, even the awful ones you occasionally have some sympathy for - clever writing! Although after a while we kept shouting, Gillian..........NO don't do it!!!! This is the original version. Be careful not to buy the Dutch version with English sub titles, also for sale on desertcart. It has a different picture on the front of the DVD. Review: Fab series - Love this series, saw it when it was first shown on the telly and always looked forward to each and every episode. i bought the dvd series 1, 2 & 3 for my mum to watch as i was sure she'd love it as much as i do. started to watch it again from the first series with mum and i wasn't wrong she thinks it is great, and wants to watch an episode as often as possible. i'm enjoying it second time as much as i did the time i saw it. we've seen the whole of the first series and looking forward to watching series 2 and 3 over the next couple of months. would highly recommend this series, i love all of the actors - they are fab. All the characters are well written, and it leaps from humour to real pathos in just a second. My only sadness is that one of the supporting cast was replaced in Series 3. Hate that, I wish they had just written him into the dialogue, referring to the reason for his absence. The first was wonderful, and the second was....not.
