It feels more like light juice than a gel which is fine as gels are not tasty. It seems to do the job but difficult to say as I used only a couple of times. After 6 miles I had a gel. I had the feeling that It helped for the last 4 to 5 miles. Be aware that It is not easy when you run to open it, in fact even when you don't run. I found that it works better to pour the gel in a small platic bottle before you go for your long run.
