I do think that it might just need a different kind of screw meant to be used in brick and a drill strong enough to drive the screw in. Seems like a question for your handyman or friendly hardware store owner. This handle is great - I love it. Maybe customer service at Amazon might have a book of specs with the info you need. **Q: Patio door an you use on a patio door?** A: I don't use mine on a patio door and I am not certain it would work on a patio door. Mine is screwed into the door frame, in between the big wood door and the storm door. I use it just as shown in the picture above. If the patio door frame is wood and you could put it on the front or back of the door and still find it useful, that might work.
