It holds a medium-weight queen-sized comforter and 4 standard pillows, although it takes some squishing to get the last pillow in. It would definitely hold just the comforter and the matching sheets/pillow shams with room to spare. The bag holds its shape when it's empty, but it will flatten down enough to fit underneath a bed.All in all, I'm very satisfied with this purchase and I may buy another one in the future for beach towels and the extra sheets!
