They hold a lot more than what it looks like. For the shoe bag, you may not be able to fit as many because of the larger size but I actually use the laundry bag for shoes and it works well for that. This has been one of the best purchases I've made in a long time. **Q: Does adding the storage cubes effect the weight of the luggage bag? Overall, will it make it heavier??** A: Of course they add weight. I see about 3.5-4 pounds with all 8 in the bag **Q: Can you fit all cubes at once into a standard TSA approved suitcase?** A: It really depends on how full you pack your cubes and if you are talking about a tsa approved carried on it might tight if you filled them all.
