For a little more money it gives me the option to connect any future devices whenever the upgrade bug hits! What I love about this device is... - Great price (Especially compared to and as an alternative to the Harmony Hub) - Quick delivery - No need for a mains lead and plug (Device connects and is powered conveniently by the spare USB socket at the back of my AV receiver) - Easy to set up although it takes a little bit of time (Finding the IR sensor on your equipment might be tricky as it's not always marked by the little IR logo) - The device itself is surprisingly about the size of a credit card, just much thicker of course! - There is no extra setting up with your Harmony Remote, works straight away once all in place - The main sensor has cleverly been designed to be attached to your T.V. relatively discreetly. It suits both slim and wider modern T.V. sets - It has ultimately sorted my problem with ease and at a much cheaper price - The device comes with Neet's Lifetime Warranty. Possible downsides...and its only me being picky... - Even though you get rid of the already mentioned hassle of a mains supply/lead you have to compromise with the cables that the little blaster probes are connected to. However these should be able to be hidden discreetly without hassle. Review: Brilliant... - All of my AV is tucked away in an obscured corner (a Sony AV Receiver and Blu-Ray player, Apple TV and Virgin Media V Box HD)... and this just totally solves my line-of-sight infra red remote issues. It was dead easy to set up. I just stuck the IR pickups on the sensors or anywhere there was an IR logo... plugged them into the control box and then stuck the main receiving IR pickup near the TV. The control box needs USB power so I plugged that into the V-Box's "What the hell's this for" USB socket and bingo. All set. The main receiving infra red 'eye' has an excellent range too... although - and maybe one to consider - its range was significantly lessened when I tried to place it in view inside a glass fronted cabinet (I guess glass to the IR eye is not quite as 'see-thru' as it appears). Outside however, even when placed underneath the cabinet and almost out of view, it was picking up signals from our Logitech Harmony remote even when facing the opposite direction. In any case, I can't recommend this enough if you need an IR repeater. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Best £25 you will spend on tv equipment *by M***D on 11 December 2014* Having used the Marmitek PowerMid XL infrared extender set for the past 2 years and having a flankly shocking experience with it, I decided to look a lot another alternative into controlling a AV equipment that is hidden away in a storage space (my room is in the attic with huge storage, almost rooms, either end to make use of the space you couldn't stand up in) The old solution was poor at best, I seemed to control my surround sound okay (volume up and down at least) but sky box was hit and miss and I gave up trying on anything else. Half the time I would leave the door open just to avoid the hassle. If had this 2 week now and I've forgotten what the inside of the storage room thing looks like, controls my sky, surround sound, blu ray, Apple tv, tv lighting, from my harmony one without issues. Every button I press, does it's job, finally have my harmony one programmed to do things with one button i.e tap watch a blu Ray and it will dim my room light, turn up the tv lighting to a nice glow, turn on the blu Ray player, set the surround sound to movie mode, select the correct input on the tv and begin playing the film. Something the harmony can do with ease but the Marmitek PowerMid XL infrared extender set I had before just didn't stand a chance.
