Review: Better Than Rode For The Price - I'm over the moon with this mic. I broke my expensive Rode lapel mic, which is "broadcast quality", and RRP 150. It was pretty much get another or try something cheaper, but quality is important. Most lapel mics at the price of this Sony get mixed reviews but the reviews for Sony are pretty consistent. I was NOT disappointed. I use it with my Zoom H4N and I've got to say the quality is near that of Rode (Rode is possibly slightly better) BUT FOR THE PRICE, you can't go wrong with this Sony mic. Also, compared to something more expensive, I can happily have a back up or two, and not be in fear of breaking it! Thank you so much Sony :)

A: As far as I know, this microphone isn't designed to be used with smart phones--but video cameras. It works great when plugged into a camcorder's external mic jack.
