Because the picture only shows one, and the title says "brush." Thanks!** A: It's a pair of brushes. Definitely comes with two. **Q: Would these be good for a beginner? Or can anyone recommend some for a beginner.** A: I don't see why they wouldn't be good for a beginner. They are very "classic" in that they have a lot of spring in the wires and a fairly wide fan-out. They remind me a lot of the brushes that were made in the early 60s when I was just learning to play. **Q: Why is there a warning about a harmful carcinogenic chemical on the case of these brushes? What chemical is that?** A: If have no idea. I would go to Vic Firth for that answer. I'm sure they don't want to sell an item that has this warning. **Q: Do they work with elecronic drums? Yamaha DTX562K** A: I wouldn't think these brushes would work well with electronic drums as they are quite light. I think they are wonderful for traditional brush play on acoustic drums. They hold their shape and you have the choice of about three different positions that the wires can be extended. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Quality as always *by M***S on 27 September 2025* Brilliant piece of kit ,. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great brushes *by T***K on 15 March 2014* Ok so I have to say these are a really nice set of brushes whether you be a regular gigging musician or a newbie... These brushes are made to last FOREVER, with a comfortable purple rubber coating that helps with grip and a nice weight / length. You will find two notches in the metal retractor / extender end which allows the brushes to be used in a more fanned position or a closer and dense position BUT I have to say that on my set the retractor / extender was stiff enough to allow me a greater variety of positions than just these two options and never slipped whilst playing. The sound of these brushes are exactly what you would expect from a decent pair of brushes and I have to say that if I had a choice of only thanking out one pair of brushes it would either be these or the Steve Gadd vic firths depending on the gig. If you are after a second pair of brushes that are completely different from these I would try a pair the live wires BUT please note they are like MARMITE!
