Review: Excellent for Miniatures - I'm am miniature painter; mostly 28/32mm up to 75mm and I've been making do a junior hacksaw and small "hobby" say which actually had course teeth. This thing is in a different league altogether! The blade is very think with a nice fine pitch.. ideal for finely cutting resin minis from the risers or perhaps for conversions. I only use this on resin and plastic and it's excellent! This is very sturdy and well made but very light. Depth of cut is 11mm so only for small jobs. Unfortunately there's no blade cover/sheath supplied but I use the cardboard retail packaging (just cut-down a bit) It's a little pricey but you pay for quality. I have cut acryilic with such a knife which I find is more suitable. the razor saw really is for model making ie light wood I would personally go for a Stanley knife which can be held steady with pressure and with a 5mm thick board the cut could be repeated many times without a problem. one other problem is that this saw has a thick rim along the top edge which would probably restrict your actions. hope this helps **Q: Can you get a sheath to protect the blade when not in use?** A: I have never come across one and never found the need for one. All I can suggest is some form of folded plastic edging strip such as used on some information folders. I hope that helps. **Q: Does this saw cut on both the pull and push action?** A: The saw is a normal western type with a push action but as the saw is only meant for relatively soft materials (woods or plastic) it will work both ways. **Q: Would this cut through 1 or 2mm of stone for making inlay?** A: I don’t think it would stay sharp very long depending on the type of stone I guess. I’ve cut bone, mother of pearl/ abalone and some aquamarine for Guitar work up to 6mm thick but they are quite soft compared to stone. Possibly, you’ll need a dremel tool.
