Cutting on the pull, it cuts through thin branches or saplings with ease, with thicker branches requiring a few more saws but still cutting smoothly. It's a lightweight, very compact, effective tool, able to get to branches in hard to reach spaces. I've done a lot of work with it and it has surprisingly got through some thicker branches that previously I would have had to reach for the chainsaw for, and it's still sharp and cutting well. The scabbard is decent, it's main positive is that it has a slightly larger hole than the saw itself which is useful to hang it up in the shed and store away neatly. I would recommend this saw. It makes quick work of small/medium branches, while a 5 inch tree trunk only took a few minutes to saw through. Cutting on the pull stroke is easy to get used to and the saw is far superior to our old bow saw. The only thing that I don't like about this saw is that it is not full tang therefore, durability is an issue for me. Which is why I returned the item. If you are going to use this saw couple times a year for your garden then this may be for you (don't get me wrong its a good saw, just not durable for long term use in my opinion. IT WILL CUT THROUGH PRETTY MUCH ANY KIND OF WOOD).
