A little over will do no harm either, adding a little now & then will keep both the tank & filter up with its ideal bacteria levels to process the muck etc. Some with more money then sense will dump the whole bottle regardless. **Q: Can this be used to help cycle my new tank for my axolotls?** A: Yes **Q: Do I need to remove the carbon whilst using Quick start.** A: Not at all, its all part of the natural waste breakdown you're attempting to build into the filter system overall.
