I think you are mixing up the model numbers. This lock 5425EURD and 5415EURD do not have a shackle at the top. the models 5424EURD and 5414EURD have shackles at the top so you could in theory padlock the key press to a railing for example. Hope the answer clears things up for you Take care **Q: Is this key safe police approved?** A: As far as I can find out there is no Police approval on this type of key safe. But suited my purpose and is pretty secure with built in light. **Q: The numbers do not light up the instructions say the bsttery is in already but should i have bought some?** A: If I rememcer correctly, the coin size battery id enclosed under a black plastic cover screwed onto the inside of the openong front flap. It may have a small plastic insulator which user should take out. Just what I wanted. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good, but not perfect *by C***N on 4 November 2022* This is a sturdy unit and easy to fix to the wall. Dials are easy to set and the unit opens easily when correct code is set. The only thing that isn't really up to spec is the dial lighting. The picture in the Amazon listing shows the dials lit from top to bottom, but in reality, only the bottom digits are clearly lit and bright. So I made a modification, I drew a new line across the centres of the digits at the bottom and removed the original line (possibly screwed the warranty but I can easily put it back as it was). This meant that to set 0000 you have to actually set 1111 on the original line. Not a problem.
