I actually thought that the second was better than the first which is unsual as the originals are normally the best. Although the storylines are set in different countries, US and Uk, there is a connection with the psychic investigators and conjurying 2 is based on actual events from the enfield case in1977 which I have read several accounts. If you enjoy jumping out of your chair, see it on your own and enjoy. Well worth it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ THE CONJURING 2 FILM COLLECTION DVD *by A***N on 11 May 2021* My copy has Conjuring 2 top of the cover with Conjuring underneath. Both transfers are very good with good subtitles. It is a very very long time since I was so impressed (and scared) while watching a "horror/ghost" film, but both these score highly on the fright front, with "2" being, for me, the most scary and better film (just) All praise to director James Wan who knows how to show frightening scenes. Subtle then "Bam" - I truly felt the hair on the back of my neck bristle and shivers down my spine twice (no exageration honestly!!) I must praise the entire cast of both films but particularly the two girls in "2" - Madison Wolfe as Janet who really goes through some terrifying experiences (think of "The Exorcist) and Laura Esposito as her older sister. Franke Polenta has the thankless role of the psychiatrist who disbelieves everything regardless of the dozens of eye witnesses to the awful events. A most enjoyable double bill of classic ghost stories that WILL scare you. (P.S. Why is that lovely actress Maria Doyle Kennedy hardly in it at all.
