See my Katsu fridge raid veg curry pic! For this quick testing to gauge it's initial performance , I simply used one chefs ladle of rice into a big saucepan, add running cold water and rinse a couple minutes. Fill pan with cold water, 1 inch from top of pan, salt water, stir with silicone spatula, lid on , high heat . Bring water to a rapid boil. Be around to catch boiling point . When rapidly boiling stir gently with spatula, TURN HEAT OFF. Put The Lid back On, time x4 minutes. After time , stir gently again, then drain in colander, let the rice rest for 15 minutes in the colander, put a lid on the colander, (anything to trap the residual steam of the hot rice , as that steam will finish it off cooking and aid perfect separation) You can cook a quick Katsu curry in that time. "Yes Chef!" πŸ˜€ It's the first time I used Katsu curry paste too. Easy quick. Very economical. (Bulk buy 10 packs) As pic shows , the rice has lovely separate grains , you do not need to nudge these rice grains around to separate ,they just get on with it themselves!
