You charge this battery with the hand crank dynamo or solar panel. You can't put any other batteries in this torch. **Q: How difficult is this to wind up, please? Buying for elderly parent who hasn't lots of strength in wrists any more. Thanks** A: Sorry for delay in responding. This torch is the best - not at all difficult to wind up, to get a really strong beam = 3 strengths - low, full beam and flash. Due to it's strange shape it's particularly easy to get good grip = highly recommend, especially for the elderly. **Q: is this torch safe for an 8 year old child to use** A: I would imagine that it's safe. I wouldn't encourage children to dismantle it though. But this is a sturdy little beast, and it is bright, so do explain about not shining the beam in people's eyes. All our children had torches in their stockings by 8 and those had batteries which are potentially dangerous but the pluses outweigh the minuses when you add it all up. ## Frequently Bought Together - igadgitz Xtra 5m Waterproof Eco Rechargeable Solar & Hand Crank LED Torch Flashlight with 5 Year Warranty - Wind Up Solar Radio, Survival Hand Crank Dynamo AM/FM Emergency Weather Radio, 2000mAh Rechargeable USB Phone Charger, SOS Alarm, LED Bright Flashlight, for Household and Outdoor Camping, Hiking - Camping Lantern, Rechargeable Camping Lights with Solar, Hand Crank and USB Charger, Collapsible Tent Light with Handles, Portable Electric LED Light for Outdoor Camping and Tent --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.kg/products/48396969-5m-waterproof-eco-rechargeable-solar-and-hand-crank-led-torch](https://www.desertcart.kg/products/48396969-5m-waterproof-eco-rechargeable-solar-and-hand-crank-led-torch) --- *Product available on Desertcart Kyrgyzstan* *Store origin: KG* *Last updated: 2026-10-03*
