Although I am running a RAID array for resilience of the data, this is not sufficient if 2 or more of the disks in the NAS array fail, so I need to back up the data on the NAS.The LaCie is a large capacity external disk, is fast and works well on the e-SATA connection I am using.I have effectively removed the LaCie HD manager, as I don't need that, and it took a bit of time with the LaCie experts to work out the optimum config for me to use, but now that's done, it's a breeze!Build quality is great, but does have a thumping great blue light that is on a lot of the time. I have it in a cupboard so no problem, but you might want to consider if that's an issue for you if it was sitting right next to your PC or MAc ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Rock Solid Performance - Irritating LED *by B***L on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 15 July 2016* I wanted an external drive with FW800 connection as I have a 2010 iMac so this is the fastest option to store and access my entire Lightroom library.The drive is well made, a bit noisy but not intrusive and so far has been rock solid.
