## Description

Review: Like a Fine Switchblade without an action spring. - I didn't entirely understand a "Button Lock" type knife, at first. That's why I bought this. Still not sure whether it makes sense, except as a sort of button-release "Gravity knife." IMO, flipping it open, with the thumb or a finger, WHILE (initially) holding the button down, requires more dexterity than this 80 y.o. lifetime pro pianist/guitarist could muster. It opens and closes VERY easily and smoothly-- IF and ONLY IF, you first push/hold the release button and release (move) the blade, either by a stud, or momentum/gravity. THEN it flaps free VERY loosely, until made to close or open fully, again, either by a stud, or by momentum/gravity. Twisting and turning it just right, will cause gravity/momentum to open or close it. You CAN'T just flip it with the studs without a LOT of force, unless you push the button to release it first. Thus, the blade CAN very easily be "thrown" open -and/or closed- by its own weight/momentum, after released by the button. The lock is quite strong, and the blade is VERY sharp. This is a quality knife, justifying its price once you learn a method of openng/closing that suits you. A captured flat spring of appropriate weight, added in the right place, would very easily make it into a high quality switchblade. OTOH, removing the operating spring of any switchblade, would make it function very much like this knife. UPDATE: After much study of the Button lock, "Lock Stick," and "Detent Ramps," I was able to correct this and tune it with my Dremel. But I maintain that a $150+ knife shouldn't have such absolute Lock Stick that it has to be modified to work AT ALL. (QC, "Remette?") And, WATCH OUT for that little conical button spring! It makes assmbly such a challenge that the factory assembling tech got it in sideways, compunding the knfe's issues (but not causing the Lock Stick.) Think a minute and you can devise a re-assembly order to deal correctly w/ that spring.
Review: A great pocket knife - This is the best knife in my small collection (~20) of pocket knives. For me it is the Goldilocks knife -- not too small, not too big (a good example of "big" is the Cold Steel AD-10, which I like a lot), not too heavy, not too light/flimsy. The machining of the titanium and carbon fiber handle is flawless, exuding the high-end feel. I like the shape of the M390 blade, which reminds me of the blade shapes of the couple Cold Steel knives I have. The button lock is nicely done, and the bearing is very smooth. As a result, the knife is very fidgeting-friendly. Overall, a highly satisfying purchase. Now that I have this knife, I kind of lost interest in getting, or dreaming about getting, some other high-end pocket knives I had been looking at. It is possible this knife will become "the" pocket knife I carry all the time (but who knows?). One thing I can say, however, is that this knife is so good that I won't feel sad if it is the only knife I can carry from now on. I should mention, however, one thing that almost quenched my enthusiasm about this knife. When I tried to sharpen the blade (because the factory edge was not as "sticky sharp" as I like), I realized that the thumb stud on the blade prevented the diamond sharpening plate at the sharpening angle from reaching the section of the blade edge close to the handle. Fortunately, the thumb stud can be removed easily by unscrewing. So, I removed the thumb stud, sharpened the blade, and reinstalled the thumb stud. The blade is now very sharp, and I am quite happy.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What is the bearing type?**
A: Ceramic ball bearing

**Q: Is the pocket clip reversible?**
A: Non-reversible pocket clip. We'll be releasing a new titanium knife with reversible pocket clips next month, so stay tuned.

**Q: How much HRC is this knife after heat treatment?**
A: 60-61HRC

**Q: Has there been a change made to production for a stronger detent on the WD107?**
A: The spring tension of the button lock has been changed from 0.04 to 0.05. Because some buyers reported that the blade would fall off when swung hard, we improved the tension of the spring, and now this problem has been solved.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Had a few troubles at first. But at the end of the day, this knife is worth every penny.
*by J***E on February 11, 2023*

I bought this knife using the $10 off option as well as the the Beez Blades Coupon code. Both of these together made the $190 knife around $150, which was great. I got the knife in a few days time and man was it BEAUTIFUL! Aesthetically speaking it was everything I love in a knife. Centered, M390 steel, beautifully done bolster, perfect back spacer, the rectangular button instead of the usual circle is awesome, and on and on I could go. Oh it also has a milled clip, I'm a lefty and right hand carry sucks sometimes. But if that's the only complaint, I would say they're doing a great job. Then I realized the button lock didn't work, and it had no detent, and the stop was too small. After letting the seller know that my new knife wasn't capable of locking in or out and therefore I couldn't use it, we had a couple breakdowns in communication due to the presence of a language barrier. But once we both got on the same page, I have to say that the seller handled it well. He wasn't offering the discount anymore at that time. But to keep it fair he took my broken knife as a return and then sent me a brand new one and also made up for the price difference. I would encourage anyone to buy from Remette. The materials and craftmanship are at a high level.
