Review: Great quality and detail but not the improvement that I was looking for compared to my Sony MDR-7506 - I ordered these headphones to try to improve to the lower base response and slight raised high frequencies of my current favorites which that I have used for around 5 years. These are the Sony MDR-7506 and were around £85 when I purchased them, they produce and exceptionally detailed soundscape which sounds open and airy and the vocals are exceptional (you can understand why these are reputed to be to goto general studio headphones for around 20 years). The Bass is detailed and you can discriminate every note. However the very low bass is lacking a little depth, and the very high end is emphasised. For this is the reason I decided to look for new headphones that could improve on these areas and was prepared to increase my budget, if needed, to around £200. I eventually tried out Sennheiser HD 280 Pro, Yamaha MT5's, Adam H200, BeyerDynamics DT770 Pro 80 Ohm & DT770 Pro X 32 Ohm, before choosing the AKG K371 - see my reviews of each of these others, for my evaluation of their performance.. As to the BeyerDynamics DT770 Pro - I found their overall design to be good quality. The padding supported the weight well and they were comfortable on your ears. However I did find the earcups slightly large and cumbersome, however the adjustment available allowed a comfortable fit to be achieved. I could have accepted this if the design had provided the audio improvements that I was seeking. Another downside was that these were 80 Ohm impedance and my computer struggled to drive them, so less compatible with my equipment, but my HiFi, phone and portable player all coped ok. The straight 3m cable was a good length and plug adaptor was good quality. The materials used were typical of consumer headphones and seem well made. You would not expect exotic materials at this price. However for me the whole purchase depended on the sonic performance - could they improve on the Sony MDR-7506, in the lower bass depth and high frequencies, without sacrificing the parts that were excellent. These DT770's, were significantly more expensive that my current headphones but did not give me the improvement that I wanted. The overall sound was open and airy. It was very detailed and very versatile, preforming well over the wide range of test tracks that I had chosen. They had very similar performance to my Sony's. Good vocal balance, great detail, however the Sony still seemed to have something a little more special on some vocal performances. They had slightly more tamed high frequencies, but no noticable improvement to the low frequency performance. So overall very good headphones but more costly than the Sony's and but still missing some of the upgrade qualities that I require.
Review: Excellent for PC use and playing guitar - Excellent pair of headphones. I’m using them for gaming and playing guitar through my audio interface. I originally bought the ATH m20x but quickly regretted it due to the lack of comfort and middling sound quality so I pulled the trigger on this. The durability and repairability seems excellent and the comfort is next level. The sound is also great with a v shaped profile. The treble does get a bit sharp some times which takes time to get used to but it’s fixable with an EQ. Really happy with my purchase and recommended.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What are the differences between the Ohms?**
A: Ohms does not determine sound quality! Ohms is simply a measure of the electrical resistance of the voice coil in the drive unit.
It really comes down to what you are driving the headphones from. You can take as a guide line what the manufacturer says, it's recommending the use of the 250 ohm model for studio use, as firstly the studio environment will have better equipment to be able to drive these better, and the 250ohm model results in higher sensitivity. Note, improved sensitivity does not equal sounds better. Sensitivity is the level of volume produced (sound pressure level) for a given level of input power.

Ideally you need to be looking at the output impedance of your source, what you are driving these from. Maximum power transfer occurs when the source and load (headphone) impedance matches. On mobile devices, if the mismatch in impedance is too great, the mobile device probably doesn't have beefy enough power transistors inside to deliver enough power to drive them properly.

**Q: Does the cable come with a 1/4 inch jack or 3.5mm jack? Thanks**
A: It comes fitted with a 3.5 mm jack and has a 1/4 adapter which it screws into for a very strong connection.

**Q: I'm quite petite and i'm struggling to find a decent pair of headphones that won't slip/fall off when i look down, do these go small enough?**
A: In terms of the headband, they don't go that small even at the minimum, but might just about do (size is subjective, idk). However, anyone buying these should be warned that the ear cups are massive. Very comfortable but absolutely massive.

**Q: Are they very comfortable for people with glasses?**
A: I wear glasses and I promise you they are the comfiest pair of headphones I jave ever wore and I have gone from beats to turtle beach to razar headphones to skull candy and the DT 770 Pro are by far the best I have wore.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent for PC use and playing guitar
*by S***M on 12 March 2026*

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Brilliant Clarity Despite Delivery Issues
*by T***R on 26 November 2025*

I’ll admit I had a bit of a hassle with delivery when I first received these headphones and I wasn’t impressed at first. But I’m not letting that taint the rest of the experience because once I got these headphones in hand from their own website, the performance more than won me over. From the moment I plugged them in I was struck by just how clean and balanced the sound is. The bass is deep without being muddy, the mids are precise and the highs are clear and extended, perfect for when I’m mixing music, listening beats or just relaxing with some tunes. What really impresses is how comfortable they are. The over ear design and cushioned padding mean I can use them for hours without fatigue and eventually you just forget that they are even on your head. They feel solid and well built rather than flimsy and the closed back design does a good job at isolating outside noise, so I can stay fully immersed even in a busy environment. The 80 ohm impedance offers a sweet spot of clarity and volume without needing a dedicated amplifier if I’m just plugging into my laptop. Overall this has become my go to set of headphones. The quality, detail and comfort combine to deliver a top tier listening and mixing experience. Despite the rough delivery start the end result speaks for itself these are easily among the best headphones I’ve used.
