No description which mentions it has an answering machine** A: Yes there is an answerphone facility. A flashing red light on the phone denotes that a call has been received and that an answer has been left. **Q: When a call is incoming, does this phone display the name of the caller stored in the phone, without subscribing to caller ID?** A: My Panasonic TGC220EB does show caller numbers but I am on BT and get Caller Display as part of the package. Very pleased with my choice. Panasonic generally make good products and this is an excellent phone. Very compact, easy to hold and use the buttons with one hand. The stand looks as if the phone might easily fall off but it doesn't, is very secure. "Easy to set up"? Oh, that must be why it only needs 48 pages of instructions. Had to look up some functions on Google AI but becomes easier once you get the thinking behind the menus. The answerphone controls are logical and easy to use. Like most modern telephones the volume is too low but I've long been in the habit of always turning on the loudhailer so no problem.
