I wrap these around the bar, shorten them per the instructions and it allows me to squat again by giving me the extra few inches of range of motion I need to hold the bar. The grips are great, and the straps feel very strong, so I have no concern about it breaking. I've even used them for pull ups with various grips and they feel sturdy. My only compliant about them is the white lettering on the straps. It wears off almost immediately and flakes fall everywhere.
