Review: Focus issue and shutter malfunction - i bought this camera just 2 months back and facing shutter issue as well as focus issue. went to canon camera service center and they say this is out of regional warranty. please please check everything before you buy something on desertcart simply relying on warranty.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Why exactly is this "used - like new" body only camera priced $200+ over the msrp? seems sketchy to me.**
A: It is sketchy, though it likely is an actual camera.  This camera is constantly sold out everywhere, even months after the launch.  This is in part due to the demand, and also in part due to the supply issues all electronics manufactures are facing world wide (covid, chip shortage, employee shortage).  It is an example of opportunism at its worse, the same thing is happening with video cards for computers.  Most at the moment are waiting about a month once they place an order.  Not everyone is willing to wait.  If that is you, then consider the price a premium to have it right now.  Otherwise, get your name down on an order and you will probably wait about a month.  That is how long I waited to get mine from Amazon.

**Q: How does this do in a gymnasium shooting basketball?**
A: Should work just fine.

**Q: When running two cards does it save a mirror image of photos on both cards or does it save the jpeg to one card and raw image to second card?**
A: You have a few options, but the easy answer here is that it can save redundantly to both cards for any format it supports.  So if you want to shoot in full RAW and save to both cards it can do it.  You just have to set it up to do so, similar to other Canon cameras that have two slots (set the camera to "record to multiple").  Both slots are USH-II SD slots, and are backwards compatible to UHS-I.  But, I would recommend at the very least to use two cards that are the same minimum write speed so that one card doesn't slow the other when writing redundantly (basically, the camera will only be able to keep up with the slowest card).  For the best performance, V90 rated cards are the best that it can support, but I have also used V60 cards and got good results.  I recommend Prograde.

It supports RAW, JPEG, C-RAW, and HEIF.  I only use RAW and C-RAW, and always write the same format to each card.

**Q: I’m use this for a 360 Photobooth how do I set it to do the video in portrait?**
A: It actually embeds the vertical position in the file, you just need to tell the program to read it that way.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ All-in-one Camera!

I've been wanting a camera for a long long loooong time now and I've been definitely saving up for it. I've read and watched countless reviews and comparisons on which one's which. Photo: As someone who's been playing with the latest phone cameras and Lightoom, this camera + lens kit is literally the same, if not, better! You can play with more settings and if you have more budget (in my case, a friend of mine lent me some of her RF lenses) you can buy/try out other lenses and filters. Video: Comparing this to similar models with the same prices from Nikon and Sony, I'd go with R7 because of the stabilization. Same reason why I can't let go of iPhone eventhough Samsung meets more of my "needs". But because of a simple reason of iPhones having better image stabilization in taking videos than other competitors (yes I takes tons of videos of my dog). I have very shaky hands and I don't carry a Gimbal with me 24/7. Battery: I haven't bought anything external yet. So far I charged the battery to its full capacity and it lasted me more or less 2 days of continuous shooting (switching from photo-4k video) in Dubai heat. Removing the battery to charge it is somewhat inconvenient so buy the Power Adapter PD-E1or something similar. Body: This is what made me choose R7 and it's because of its weather sealing. I proved it a while ago in Dubai's humidity. Can't say the same for the lens though! Price: Unless you're an enthusiast or hobbyist, I honestly don't recommend getting this camera. Because why spend this much if it's only gonna sit in your cupboard? If you're a beginner learning art through photography, I'd recommend starting with a cheaper but good camera such as M50 or R50 and then mounting it with good lenses. And then work your way up to this camera. But of course, your life, your choice.
