I buzzed it for maybe 3-4 seconds and the ice was gone, I thought maybe there were chunks hidden but when I checked with a spoon they were all gone. It's much quieter than expected. I've made a dozen smoothies with it already and I love it so far. I ordered extra cups so I didn't have to constantly be washing out cups, but they're so easy to clean, I've only used the one cup. The cups do hold the smell of your previous drink after washing but it doesn't affect the taste, I often full mine up with ice water after and it doesn't change the taste of the water.
