The length my big toe touches the end of the shoe. If I order a size 81/2 then I think it would slide up and down in the back. The shoe material & inside of shoe is soft. The material is flexible so I think it will stretch a little in the toe area. Not wearing every day just for an occasion. I think it will work. I will wear around the house to stretch it. I would order more in other colors. I may order another shoe in 81/2 for a comparison. But i have went up a half size in other shoe brands & it always moves up and down in the back.
