No offensive rubber smells - Product described is just as I ordered and exactly what I needed to incorporate into my workout sessions. I very recently purchased/received this product, however, from the little use so far, this product is great. No offensive rubber smells, only slight rubber smell which is normal as compared to any newly pkged and shipped rubber product. It handles well with a nice grip. To ease any worries of product splitting open, I purchased a protection plan that was offered which was extremely afforadable and covers product for a couple years. However, I don't foresee any issue of this item splitting open as the material appears to be quite durable and I've used a similar item in the gym in which they have had the product longer than I've been attending the past few years and never had issues with a break down in materials either. I use it outside on cracked limestone. Not a scratch. Some slam balls can pop or split, I can’t see that happening with this one.
