On my first day out I got caught in a rainstorm; it took over a day in direct sun for them to dry out. They are not water resistant. I decided I needed a second pair and ordered in the Propet which is about half the price of the Dunham ($55 vs $95). I now have about 5 walking miles, (2 two and a half mile walks) on each one, several days casual around the house and right now I have the Dunham on one foot and the Propet on the other. Here is the comparison.The basic designs are almost identical with a three strap system. The 6E Dunham and the 5E Propet both fit fine. I adjusted the rear strap initially and have not had to touch them since. The two top of the foot straps are easy to get in and out of and you can set them tight or loosely and the sandal stays on. The Dunham straps slide easily through the ring opening so that you can lift your foot straight up and then plop straight down when you put them back on. But this does require you to thread the straps back through the rings each time. The Propet can probably do this too but you would have to work at it to slide the strap out of the ring. The straps fatten up in the middle to keep them ifrom sliding out of the ring. This means you don't plop in from the top but rather slide in from the rear which is easy. Take your pick. I prefer the Propet since I do not have to hassle with the rings.The Propet appears slightly more substantial than the Dunham which is looser with a more relaxed fit, (Propet break in will probably improve this). Comfort is about equal. There is no difference in cushioning or wear and tear on the feet and legs after long walks. From the looks of the sole and cushion, the Propet, may be water resistant but I do not know yet. One big thing for those who need arch support; the Propet has an arch support and it works fine. The Dunham does not have an arch support but I was able to get my orthodics in place; they stayed and it worked.The big thing is the price. I cannot understand what Dunham thinks they are giving me for twice the price. Price, strapping and arch support is a no brainer win for Propet. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wide for the win! *by W***N on Reviewed in the United States on July 11, 2016* Finally, a sandal that fits my 4E foot properly! I exclusively wear NB sneakers because they are the only ones which fit properly. When I found out they make sandals, I bought a pair instantly to replace my aging Naot. Usually when I but sandals, I have to buy them large, then bring them to the shoemaker to have the straps shortened and Velcro sewn onto the new lengths, as I did with the Naot. These fit right the first time, and only took 2 or 3 wearings of a few hours each to break in to the point where I could wear them all day. I highly recommend them. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ These are my 24/7 shoes *by S***Y on Reviewed in the United States on March 20, 2018* I'm a gal who's got different feet, so my options are minimal. My feet are wide and require a lot of room for the toes. I barely fit in a size 12 6E mens tie-up shoe by NB (design has to have the widest/deep toebox available), and I wear that as required for safety. Outside of that I've been wearing the St Johnsburry or the Nolan-Dun sandal as my primary shoe for years, I go through a pair a year and they hold up OK.I order from Amazon verses the store, because NB stores don't sell Dunham sandals anymore. This time I went to order more, I see Johnsbury has an all black option (Points for Amazon, easy to find variety) in my size that I go ahead and order. I wear black socks, so black shoe and sock seems somewhat better looks-wise.So my downsides are: no buckle, and now-a-days my left foot is so wide, only 1/4"-1/2" of the velcro is used on the left tow strap... not a common problem for most, but hey if you have unique feet, comparison notes are awesome.The 2 pairs before were the Nolan-Dunn I think I prefer them despite the first had to get an exchange from the store because the sole separated from toe to arch during my honeymoon, points to the store for exchanging the shoes after some time.The Nolan-Dun toe straps are longer, and I could buckle them quietly, vs velcro all the time, I think I still prefer them.Before that (2015- 2004??) I've pretty much stuck with this same sandal in brown.The reasons for replacements have included the the bottom got warn, suede covering the memory foam was becominng unglued at toe, and in an old design (not current) the stitching by the "big toe" came loose.Sadly I need to find a new closed toe shoe that's black/neutral for safety/uniform at a volunteer role I have.
