The cAP lite can also be used as a stand alone access point with the full potential of RouterOS. Review: These work well so far - I bought 3 of these to use with a Mikrotik RB750Gr3 router. I setup CAPsMAN on the router to manage them. There's a bit of a learning curve with this brand due to the immense amount of configuration options, but the value for the cost is unbeatable in my opinion. I found a CAPsMAN tutorial on youtube by "Winflare" that helped a lot. These cAP Lite units come with a default static address that must be deleted and replaced with DHCP for them to work with CAPsMAN, but so far they seem pretty stable and fast enough for my needs. My cable ISP gives me about 40-50 MBPS download and these keep up with that. I had no DOA units out of the 3 I bought. I like the low cost, compact size and lack of bright LED's after you get the cover on. I'm still not sure how much range they have but due to the fact that the antennas are circuit board traces, these probably don't have much range outside the home.
