A: I don’t think you can.  I have tried to keep stuff really cold just for my 12 hr work shift. I do use the cold frozen packs to keep it at least semi-cold.

**Q: Are the strap clips and the hoops on the bag that the strap connects to metal?**
A: No. They are plastic. I have had no problem with it. It can carry a lot of weight.

Very nice and roomy bag! This is perfect for my boyfriends lunch during his 10 hour shift. I can pack water bottles as well as larger tupperwares and his snack packs with no issue. I love the strap too, it makes it easier to carry. The side pockets are very useful too for notes or utensils. It feels very sturdy and good quality. I haven't tried ice in it yet but it looks like its well insulated enough.
