It is good and nice, but I use it with my children. **Q: Can this saw be used rip to logs into slabs, planks, flitches, etc?** A: I've only crosscut. It wasn't quite as stiff as I'd expected. Suppose you could try if you had the time. Might be able to start the cut, then tap in wedges, depending on the wood you're trying to slab. **Q: What is the width of a blade? Thank you.** A: The kerf is quite thin; maybe 1-2mm. Not as stiff as anticipated. The blade is tapered at both ends near the handles. I would say it's 5-6 inches wide in the middle, tapering to 2-3 inches at the ends.
