So you can use either bag type in either Genie without trouble. **Q: How many wee wee pads does one refill bag hold?** A: I use mine to put the poop bags in and I close the bag up the night before trash and throw it away. I have two dogs, one big and one little and the actual genie holder is perfect for holding 1 week of bags. The refill bag is a continuous bag and you tie a knot on the bottom of the bag and when the container is full, you pull a bit more bag out of the refill ring to allow you to cut (which there is a blade in the container to assist you) and tie off the bag to throw it away. Then you pull more of the 'bag' out of the refill ring, tie a knot on the bottom and start all over for the week.
