The fabric is much improved on these, with a much softer feel and better stretch. I would usually take small for briefs etc, but having read earlier reviews I ordered medium. I have 37inch hips and the medium fits me perfectly. There is an extra inner fabric layer on the front, which used not to be the case, but I cut mine out. No problem.
