I have cooked both in it and it works but I have to remove the whistle in order to keep cooking after the milk gets boiling hot. There is no easy way to do this but it can be done with tongs. Also I would greatly prefer one long handle to two short handles. The handles do get quite hot. That having been said I do think this is a awesome product. I have been wanting something like this for a very long time.
