I wouldn't order the small size for a bird any bigger than a quaker or a Sun Conure. I also think a small parakeet might have a hard time getting from the ladder to the top perch. The unit was fairly easy to assemble, even with a 2 year old butting in the entire time. A lot of the reviews said that the metal was warped and didnt line up with the holes properly, my unit didn't have that issue, but I can see how that could easily be an issue since the metal could be bent fairly easily. My item also came with "upgraded" food/water dishes that are stainless steel instead of the ceramic, I was pleasantly surprised! My little guy loves to hang out in the living room with us, and its nicr to get him out of the cage without having to worry about him making a mess or getting into things he shouldn't. The only thing I dislike about the unit is that my bird loves to climb to the edge and hangout on thr seed guard. I don't think it's a flaw in the design, just a goofy habit my bird has. Overall I wouls highly recommend this playground for small/medium bird owners, the price is great, and it is very good quality. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Nice playstand *by D***B on Reviewed in the United States on February 5, 2013* I got this for my two parakeets. It's taken them a couple of weeks to start using it, but they're gradually getting used to it and making it their home away from home. They prefer the upper portion of the playstand, so I wrapped the top wire with jute cord so they could get a grip and perch comfortably on it. I also wrapped the perch and the swing with jute. I know they'd like the stand better if it were taller, so I tied a couple of long branches to the sides of the stand, which they like a lot.The playstand is very sturdy, and it has lots of places to hang toys and clip treats and greens. It wheels around easily, and the tray is great for catching fallout. The bare metal is slippery for little bird feet, and the wooden perches are too large for little birds. I've added lots of rope and wood ladders and I've strung cotton rope for lots of perching options. The food dishes are mostly useless; they're too big for food and too small for a bathtub.My shipment arrived quickly from an Amazon seller, but the box was delivered pretty banged up and taped together. The only part of the playstand that was damaged was the plastic tray, which I've glued back together. Assembly went smoothly, and the instructions were clear enough.
