Very nice boxes with good instructions as to how to use boxes for best results. I have used these boxes for years. They stand up very well. They can easily be adapted for a raised bed.

Love these small boxes. Perfect for hobby containers

I love these boxes. They might not be for everyone as they are smaller then the bigger ones. Which means maybe more watering. Less yields and less space. But if you are like me and just like gardening as a hobby and don’t mind if you are buying produce from the store and want to mess around and not take gardening seriously, these might be for you.I have some tips as I’ve been a pot gardener for the last 14 years. I would think about using 1/2 to full coco fiber. There is a reason as coco allows more air space and somehow the plants seem to grow bigger then in peat and can resist dry outs a lot better then peat, also re wetting is never a problem as peat is. Coco has its problems where it can attract fungus gnats easily or your coco might even come with them. It’s buffer ability with nutrients is far harder which is why old times they abandoned the media as they couldn’t grow plants well in them. We figured out they just need more Ca. Mg and iron or wait a while to get that in load into the media to start cycling. But if you are growing anything like tomatoes you need to supplement with a cal mag solution for sure and make sure you have lime. The fungus gnats is you do have are easy to get rid of. Water on top with neem seed meal soaked in water. Take the water and use in whatever you water with. A couple weeks and they are done..If you can see by the photos these boxes grow!! I use the plants in my smoothies daily. Also a tip if you want is to fill the box completely to the very very top with soil media. That photo with the kale, the box is only half full!!! That’s about .75 a gallon that is growing in!! It would do better in more soil though. I recommend lettuce though half full so you don’t waste soil but up to you. That might mean watering more or keeping water in the reservoirOnto that water reservoir. I say don’t keep it full or think about keeping it water logged unless plants are big and established and it’s super hot where the soil is drying out that bad. Too much water can be a bad thing. And I think if you like gardening you know it’s daily work. Don’t let me scare you though. You can keep water in there. I just don’t believe the plants do as well as have cycles or daily watering...So with some of those tips. I just want to encourage you to get out there and try them out. That’s what I did. I’m not a pro. Just a guy who like gardening and takes the time to try to learn. I just want to show you though you can grow in these. Even beets!!! I have a huge beet growing and all my beets have grown well in these super small boxes. Just experiment and have fun. That’s what it’s all about anyways right.Another tip is to add some dry nutrients and some dolomite before planting for sure. If you are having yellowing or things going on with your plants. I can tell you from years of experience it’s either too much water. Not enough or the main one is nutrients. I use day nutrients before planting and liquid ones throughout. There isn’t enough nutrients in these small boxes for more then a couple weeks maybe a month. They need constant fertilizer. You can even drop dry nutrients into you watering can and top water to get in that way... but they will suck up nutients and that is the main cause of problems in container gardening... bar none. It’s a learned system so have the patience and keep going at it!!!Enjoy
