After you put on the new belt I think you get it to 188-208 lbs then run the engine for a few minutes to "seat" the bel. you should check your service manual. With the Maxima a lot like the infinity Nissan publishes two different tension ranges. One range 188-208 refers to new belts and the other range 164-184 is a retension range.
