They are amazingly resourceful and can be very destructive.Squirrels can easily jump downward 8 ft from a neighboring bush, climb up a pole or hang by their toes with ease - and bite through nearly all wire, cable ties, tape, or plastics - (including polypropylene baffles) - with enjoyment!But this baffle mount securely holds the baffle from sliding down, yet allows it to “tip” when they attempt to board it, or use it to gain access to the items above it.I have multiple feeders - but only one that hangs on a tree from a “shepherds hook” rod. Due to the “arrangement” of the configuration differing slightly when they “hang”, - any such feeders are near impossible to protect. Squirrels have an acrobatic high-wire act that is tough to beat. But I digress.The only sure-fire plan that I found that succeeds in keeping the varmits from getting to the feeders are when the poles are mounted in the ground.
