It is better than sliced for adding to cooked and uncooked dishes. Spices up the potato salad nicely, plus salads and fruit salads that might otherwise be bland. I've dropped a few chunks into some soups too, as a nice taste surprise. It has a nice bite without being fibrous like some sliced gingers.I did rub off or shake out about an eighth cup of sugar and added it to cinnamon powder. I would have given this five stars for functionality and taste when the seller decides it does not need added sulfur dioxide, and next time I will look for a similar product without sufur dioxide. but then again, I use it in such small quantities I'm not going to make a big fuss about it either :-)You might, for raw out-of-hand eating, prefer the higher heat sliced ginger, if you don't mind the slight chewiness due to the fibers.Keep in mind, that once you open the bag, the sugars start to collect moisture and it becomes even better, imho. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Ginger quality/freshness mediocre.
