Didn’t have that plastic odor that so many cases tend to have. The lining is a material that is soft enough it won’t scratch but it’s not padded. The case itself is sturdy and fits the Netgear hotspot well, and holds it securely. It zips smoothly. A nice feature is the case is big enough to hold the netgear hotspot on one side, and I could put my phone or charger in the other compartment. I was using this for travel, so the roomy separate compartment was useful but does make it a little bulky. However it increased the usefulness so the tradeoff in size was worth it. It also kept items safely separated and didn’t scratch the screen on my hotspot. The wrist strap was a really nice feature that I ended up using more than I expected. As I travel, I'll update on its durability, though it seems pretty stout. My only gripe (and it's pretty insignificant) is the puny 'ingle point' strap that they include.
