Unlike many alcohol-based chemicals, it emits a non-offensive odor. Clean, Prime, and Adhere with Confidence. In addition to aiding in adhesion, our 3M Adhesive Primer 111 also works as a surface primer on some surfaces. It cleans and promotes adhesion in a single step, provided the surface is relatively clean and free of wax, grease, oil, and loose particles, saving you both time and effort. **Q: will this help in bonding rubber to bare metal?**
A: Yes

**Q: Is this the right product to use with 3M double sided tape to help with adhesion? Attaching new car badges I want make sure it's safe on car paint?**
A: It didn’t work well putting a vinyl decal on the side of my Rzr (ABS plastic). The little packets of 3M that are packaged with some decals work much better. The solution in the can is very watery.

A: I believe my husband used it as a base to waterproof a hole we had in our carport. I’m almost positive he used a silicone adhesive.
