I came across the Majority Homerton 2 and given its array of functionality, looks, and price, I thought I’d give it a spin. It arrived well packed and when I took it out of the box I was surprised by its weight and how sturdy it felt. Once fired up it launched into the set up wizard which is pretty simple to do and took less than 5 minutes. With some 80’s tunes on the CD player I thought I’d better read the instructions. The instructions are online and accessed with the QR code on the box which is a great sustainable touch. They are detailed and easy to follow, but to be honest the Homerton 2 is really intuitive so most people probably won’t need them. All of the functions can be accessed on the remote (which has a lovely β€˜click’ to it) or on the front of the unit, but it also has an app, which is probably how I’ll use it. The app is really good, and again the set up was so easy - I think the only thing you can’t do on the app is eject a CD! The Homerton 2 sounds great for its size and although I’ll be integrating it into my current audio eco-system via the jack on the back, it’s good to know it can belt out a tune. And the connectivity available is better than some systems that are far far more expensive - you’ve USB, jacks in and out, Bluetooth (which has great range) and Spotify connect. And on top of that you get podcast player and the internet radio, neither of which I knew I needed but now absolutely love. Both are simple to use, even more so on the app and there is so much to explore. So all in all I’d thoroughly recommend the Homerton 2 to anyone looking for a dab / internet radio / CD player that’s affordable, flexible and has some oomph. If you should ever need it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Super little music player - shame about the headphone socket and USB being on the rear. *by G***B on 22 December 2022* I needed to replace a very old and broken 5 cd/radio/tape player - really only to listen to radio and play CDs and chose this player after reading the reviews. I am glad I did. I got very confused and stressed setting up the internet side of things, but that is just me - actually it should be really easy if you understand what you are doing! I did have a printed booklet with basic instructions and looked online for set up, but there were one or two less clear instructions! However, once sorted I found that this little player is an absolute gem. I needed a small system without bulky speakers that would fit on a small cupboard - this fits the bill. I was pleased I had chosen the oak box. The top speaker is a slight issue but actually the sound is pretty amazing for such a small item. I managed (with difficulty and a few choice words) to get some FM and DAB stations preset - No idea how I did it but I must have pressed the right things at the right time somehow! I tried a CD - fine. I tried the FM, DAB, and Internet Radio - all fine, with surprisingly good reception because the player is in a corner of the room - it worked without the aerial extended. The revelation to me was when a relative sorted me out with Spotify (not had before) which worked using my tablet (no smart phone). I was thrilled with the sound quality and ease of using this - the little screen showing the artist and track. Unfortunately this is not the case when a CD is playing - just showing the track number. I do not have the player plugged in most of the time, but when put it back on it had retained all my settings, which was great. This is a five star machine, but I had to knock off a star because of the really stupid placement of the headphone and USB sockets. They are at the back (I knew they were but a socket at the back is better than none). I mostly need to use headphones but I don't want them plugged in all the time. Having to move the unit and mess around finding the socket at the back is an absolute pain but I am willing to live with that because overall the unit is perfect for me. I do not know how robust or reliable the player is because I have only had it a couple of days, but I hope it will give me long and happy listening.
