The turntable has a well balanced arm, and an automatic off at then end of a side of playing. I merge the two sides of a platter into one file. I'm still on the same stylus, with a couple of cleanings, after 50 records. But I plan to change at 100, the stylus is inexpensive. Of course the speakers are tinny, very much expected, but still better than my laptop speakers. I could run the pre-amplified output into any amp if I wanted to listen to my platters. I bought this specifically to convert lots of old LPs to MP3s. It does this with some post processing. The included software installed on my Windows 10 machine with no problems. The good: it automatically separates the tracks and allows you to name the file, album, and artist for file management purposes only. But it only saves as WAV files and does not let you add detailed information like track number. I found free software (EZ CD Audio Converter) that both let's me convert to MP3 and add detailed track info. I can bulk add artist, album, genre, and more, then add track numbers individually. Not a bad solution at all. Now I'll be listening to my old albums as they convert. Occasionally the provided software misinterprets pauses in the music as a new track.
