At the time I couldn't afford the surgery so I bought these, hoping it would give her a little comfort. She's only 2 years old!! After 3 weeks of eating these twice a day, the tendon stopped sliding. We went from she couldn't straighten her back leg a dozen times a day and I had to move it back into place, to it just didn't do it anymore. So now I give her 1 a day to maintain and she's been doing great. Maybe when she gets older, the issue will come back and she'll need surgery then but for now she's OK and can walk without an issue in the knees. Smell is nothing crazy or too potent. They are not soft. It's a hard tablet. It's a good size but for my dog and weight, I just cut them in half which was really easy to do. He's gone from barely walking down the driveway to walking a couple kilometers.
