Review: Highly recommended - This setup was worth every penny I spent on it. I have never had any experience with a mesh system, I have always just used a WiFi router. The TP-Link Deco system was a breeze to set up, download the app and go. Once the first unit was up and running it was as simple as plugging in the other units. I wanted this because I have a workshop about 40 feet away from my house and WiFi was always a problem out there. With this setup I put the main router in the living room of my house, one in the basement, one in the garage and another out in my shop. Because these can piggyback the signal from the main unit I now have great signal in the workshop. Also, I like the user adjustability that the app offers. I highly recommend to anyone on the fence about getting a mesh network. I can now move from any point in my house and even to my shop seamless without any dropped service.
Review: Simple but Effective. First ever Strong Wifi in 2-Story Home! - This was a godsend for my 2-story home. We've always, always had crappy wifi. I had to get 4 nodes for my home to really be to the level I wanted it to be, but it feels worth it, considering that some wifi routers go for around, say, 300 dollars, which is about what I spent on 4 nodes. They're easy to hook up, no gimmicks, just the app and the 'add node' button after plugging in a node for around... 1 minute of setup. I would highly recommend, if you're like me and literally in the opposite corner of a large multi-story home away from the main router; to finish your connection with a wired, direct connection to your gaming device. Otherwise, yes, you'll sometimes get maximum speeds on a mobile device just by utilizing the 'mesh functionality' aka 'roaming'. But once you get to the corner of the home, in the corner of a room, behind or next to a bunch of extra monitors, electronics, and solid walls, you may need that one extra node, or a direct connection, etc etc. To help you get the best speeds. League of Legends, for example, completely wireless with 3 nodes was acceptable, but not as smooth as my old power-adapter power-line setup. With 4 nodes and a wired connection at the end, my game was as smooth as it used to be via the power adapter. Finally, to explain why I switched from the power-adapter? Power adapters are a little finicky when it comes to the home suddenly using a lot of electricity, or when you need extra power slots in your wall and you try to connect the power adapter into any sort of extender outlet. Also, mesh wifi allowed me to also get my phone and laptop onto the stronger connections even all the way down in my bedroom. All in all, so far so good. I bought it twice! The app isn't horrible at all (I'm quite picky), and setup is easy. Cool! (Also, they don't look too bad in a modern home. The black+white aesthetic is classy and isn't too distracting in the kitchen. Looks good!)

## Questions & Answers

**Q: We got 2 two packs and we want to have all four on our network. But it won’t let me have more than 3 in the app. How do I connect the fourth?**
A: TP Link allows up to 10 nodes on one network. I had trouble adding my 3rd node. I found that it helped out a lot to power them on and add them one at a time. Also if you are doing “wireless backhaul” your 4th node may be to far away from the other 3 nodes to establish a connection.
I would highly recommend running Ethernet cable to each node if at all possible in your setup. I did this and it doubled the speeds on my network. Hope this helps a little.

**Q: What's the difference between the deco X25 and this mesh system?**
A: Hi! The primary difference is the bandwidth. The X55 is an AX3000 system, offering up to 574 Mbps over 2.4GHz, and up to 2402 Mbps over 5GHz. The X25 is an AX1800 system, offering up to 574 Mbps over 2.4GHz and up to 1201 Mbps over 5GHz.

**Q: Have 3000 sq foot house but want to add on blink WiFi cameras outside. Will the system be strong enough?**
A: Yes. We have about 3700 sq ft. Thus the need for a mesh system. We have a detached garage with a blink camera perhaps 250 feet away from the house. I placed on of these mesh devices upstairs in the house for another work room. The blink camera is working just fine.

For point of reference - house is solid brick with interior walls also being brick covered with plaster (house is circa 1840's). So it has some solid walls to go through but the blink still works fine.

**Q: Can i connect these to a mobile hotspot and then plug ethernet from my pc into the deco unit? then i could connect ethernet cable to my jetpack?**
A: No, the first node has to connect via ethernet, as I've just discovered while trying to connect my outdoor to my existing wifi, which it won't do.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ⭐️ Excellent coverage and consistently strong performance
*by S***O on November 15, 2025*

I live in a two-story home and always struggled with dead zones, especially in the rooms farthest from the router and in the backyard. Since installing this device, the WiFi now reaches the entire 2,500 sq. ft. area without any issues — and even a bit beyond that. Overall, this TP-Link is absolutely worth the investment. If you’re looking to extend your coverage, improve stability, and eliminate dead zones, this model is a great choice. I would definitely buy it again. Setup was incredibly easy. The TP-Link app walks you through every step, and I had everything up and running in under 10 minutes. I really like that the system automatically manages the best band for each device, switching between 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz seamlessly. You never notice it happen, but the network stays stable at all times. The speed improvement has been significant. Before, I dealt with buffering while streaming movies or constant cutouts during video calls. Now I can have multiple devices connected — TVs, laptops, phones, and smart home gadgets — and the network doesn’t slow down. Even during peak usage hours, everything runs smoothly. Overall, this TP-Link is absolutely worth the investment. If you’re looking to extend your coverage, improve stability, and eliminate dead zones, this model is a great choice. I would definitely buy it again.
