Review: Vibrant Ultra Quiet Does it AGAIN!!! - The Vibrant Ultra Quiet is an awesome resonator! I have purchased 2 of these (one for my '07 Nissan Titan and one for '17 VW Passat 1.8T R-Line) and would NOT hesitate to buy again. Both of my cars are modified and the resonator calms things down a lot from cold startup to drone to, most importantly, rasp or CIS [card-in-spoke]. I'll talk about its performance below from the perspective of each car along with the mods to give you an idea of how effective the UQ will be. My '07 Nissan Titan 5.6L [can also use the same comparison for an Armada. Same engine.] has an AEM intake, JBA ceramic long tube headers, Cajon HFC, and a Banks 3" exhaust [*with Borla 400436 muffler], and tune (I have an Uprev and BullyDog GT Tuner. I prefer the BullyDog on Extreme mod!). I will say when I upgraded to the JBA headers I had to replace the 8 year old Banks muffler with the Borla muffler. I think it sounds awesome with the Borla 400436 (heavy duty) but if you have this setup and prefer a little more pop similar to the Banks exhaust tone then you may want to look into the Borla XR muffler. Cajun pipes recommends either Borla muffler or the JBA muffler to handle the JBA LT setup. In any case, I put the Vibrant UQ on and it calmed the cabin noise AND when you have a load (eg: towing). I was about to make a cross country trip towing without the UQ and had to make an emergency visit to the muffler shop to get it installed because it would not have been bearable without. My truck sounds great and it is not annoying. Sounds great on startup, idle, acceleration, distance trips, and when towing. Would definitely recommend especially for the setup I have. The UQ is 4 years old and going strong. On my '17 VW Passat 1.8T I have an AEM intake, Magnaflow 3" exhaust w/resonator (it's pretty much an axle back exhaust), and a CTS 3" downpipe (which I would not recommend doing. Ended up putting the stock downpipe back on because of cabin drone, vibration from fitment issues, and a ticking noise that would not go away). I put the UQ on after the CTS downpipe install hoping to cure some of the drone and noise. The exhaust didn't rasp which is something I know the UQ would have taken care of. It did a decent job reducing the overall sound but not the cabin drone especially with going uphill. It was like being in an airplane. I think a full 3" exhaust is not something the 1.8T is designed for. Needless to say, I swapped the CTS downpipe with stock and installed the UQ. The car is basically back to stock noise with a touch of exhaust tone which is fine with me. No drone and no annoying 4 banger exhaust noise. Would definitely recommend.
Review: Pricier than generic, but 5x as effective - I had a cheapy 3" generic brand (< $40) resonator earlier that basically did nothing. Replacing with the Vibrant gave amazing results -- I was completely shocked to hear the difference. On a four cylinder ecotec, the idle is audible, but not obnoxious like before. Downshifts give a decent crackle, but drone at 2-3000 RPM is controlled. High RPM whine sounds clean and nice. I am super impressed.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: I dropped a gibson exhaust with 3" tubing in my chrysler 300. will this tame the interior drone from the mds system on 4 cylinders?**
A: I installed two of them on an evo ix. Car had a bad drone after doing new headers and bigger turbo. No more drone and exhaust sounds much deeper for a 4 cylinder. I had read previous posts of people recommending you run two of them if the drone is real bad.

**Q: Can i use this on a truck? 2013 f150 3.5 v6 turbo**
A: As long as your exhaust piping is 3" then yes.

**Q: Will this help my cars throttle response? i installed 3" downpipes up from the stock 2.25" and feel a bit of lag at low rpm**
A: By using the bigger pipes, you have reduced the exhaust velocity and the low end response may suffer as a result. You may gain some performance at the top end though. As with all things in life, it's a tradeoff. Things like bigger cam(s) and bigger exhaust should be installed with care, otherwise general drivability could be greatly affected. Good luck!

**Q: I have a h pipe to straight through axle back 5.0 mustang. Super loud. Will 2 of these take care of the rasp and drone w/o taking away bark?**
A: The exhaust note will mellow out a tad bit, t'll still sound badass, took away the drone i had a highway speeds. I have one on a Nissan titan with headers and it sounds clean and mean, but I'm also using borla muffler. If you're straight pipe still might be a little loud.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfectly tamed the aftermarket exhaust on my cammed 5.3L Silverado
*by A***4 on October 11, 2017*

A little background first. I have a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Crew Cab 4wd with the 5.3L LC9 engine. Unfortunately, I lost a couple lifters/cam lobes due to some oil issues at around 125k miles. Since those valve train parts had to be replaced, I decided to upgrade instead of keeping stock parts. After all the work was done, I had a mild towing cam, deleted the AFM/DOD system (V4 mode), installed new lifters/push rods/springs/trunnions, installed a new higher-pressure oil pump, a K&N cold air intake, and then upgraded the exhaust from the motor all the way back. All these modifications were tied together with a custom dyno tune. The new exhaust system that was installed included Kooks long tube headers with 1-3/4" primaries & Kooks catted y-pipe. Behind the y-pipe I replaced the factory/stock cat-back with a Corsa dB, part # 24904. I opted for the dB system because it was about $400 cheaper than the normal Corsa Sport system (part # 14904), and it connected right up to the Kooks y-pipe (easy install). Everything I read about the Corsa dB system was that it was definitely louder than stock, but had very little if any drone. After installing the system and spending about a month driving around, it indeed had very little drone, but unfortunately it was just too loud for me. It definitely sounded mean, but as a daily driver it was just too much. As such, I started searching for a solution that would quiet the exhaust down a little without taking away too much performance. The Vibrant Ultra Quiet Resonator was a perfect solution and far exceeded my expectations! From cold starts to highway speeds, this little resonator made a major difference and took the edge off of the loudness. Also, so far, I haven't noticed ANY difference in performance, either! This makes sense, because the resonator is a straight-through design and probably has negligible impacts on free-flow. However, I didn't dyno before and after, so I can't necessarily guarantee that it didn't affect performance.....there's your disclaimer for those who are more educated on this subject... How I installed my resonator (see pictures): Since the resonator is 9.75" long (not including the pipe connection ends), I cut a 9.75" section out from my current exhaust setup, so that it would fit perfectly once the pipe ends of the resonator slid on to either end of my existing exhaust. The Kooks y-pipe and Corsa cat-back connected to each other via a spherical clamp setup. Both the Kooks y-pipe and Corsa cat-back were designed to connect to the stock systems (front or back). So, whether you were installing the Kooks headers/y-pipe and keeping the factory/stock cat-back, or putting the Corsa cat-back behind the factory/stock y-pipe, it would fit because they both necked down to a 2.75" (stock) inner diameter connection. So, if you can visualize this from front to back (see pictures), the Kooks y-pipe end necked down to a 2.75" i.d. and ended with a male spherical clamp connection. The Corsa cat-back started with a female spherical clamp connection, then 2.75" i.d., then necked out to a 3" i.d. Since the inner diameter of the resonator is 2.75" (if you measure the inside of the actual resonator portion), I figured by eliminating the 2.75" i.d. spherical clamp section and replacing it with a 2.75" i.d. resonator, it wouldn't make much of a difference in the system flow, because with both configurations, that section of the exhaust would still be 2.75" i.d. (If that was super confusing, just check out the pictures and it mostly explains it visually) I know this review was long and included a lot of details that may not have anything to do with the resonator. However, I wanted to provide details because when it comes to exhaust, the cam of the motor, the headers, the y-pipe (with or without cats), and the cat-back system can all play a role in how the exhaust sounds. For those out there who have a similar truck with the same engine and similar mods, this may be exactly what you're looking for to quiet down the exhaust. For those out there who are just trying to see whether or not this resonator works....it definitely does!! With the resonator now installed, under light-duty driving conditions, it is very similar to the quieter, stock exhaust note. However, when you put your foot down, you can definitely hear that aftermarket/higher performance sound. It's quiet when you want it to be quiet, but not too quiet for when you want let 'er rip.
