The panel to reset the combination is also not accessible when the device is locked onto the steering wheel. **Q: What if you dont remember the code?** A: The keys were stuck,wouldnt let me rotate to align my code. **Q: Sliding mechanism got stuck. I cannot move to set. Any help?** A: Did you remove the tiny silver square on back & flip the dot from one side of the slot to the other to set it? I think they have a video on here that shows you how to do it. I believe the numbers all have to be set to 0s to set the code the first time. **Q: So can a thief break in and reset the passcode if they knew how? I suspect thieves learn how these things work so want to make sure this is fool proof** A: To set your own personal passcode, you have to remove a small panel with a tiny Phillips screwdriver. Secondly, you have to slide a locking mechanism over to set your own private five number pass code. Then you slide the mechanism back, and replace the plate. Once you put, the lock on the steering wheel, access to the panel and locking mechanism are blocked by the steering wheel itself. A thief would have to saw off your steering wheel in order to access the recess mechanism and reset the pass code. The whole purpose of the device is to slow down a potential thief to the point that they would move onto another vehicle with much faster access.
