It can be used with many different calibers, this model works with .22 thru .45. A Jag is sized to have a tight fit with the cleaning cloth in one specific caliber. I generally use both when cleaning, the patch holder first, to loosen deposits in the barrel. Then the jag to deep clean. Then the patch holder again to oil the barrel. **Q: Does this patch holder fit Tipton Rods** A: I have Hope rods. I do not know. I think rods they do universal holder and could fit any holders and cleaning kit. **Q: Will this thread onto a Hoppes cleaning rod?** A: It should; I don't think I used an adaptor. Most cleaning rods are universal but sometimes you need an adaptor depending on caliber. Usually there is a size for most handguns and a different one for shotguns and larger caliper rifiles. **Q: Will this fit the brass cleaning rod in real avid gun boss pro cleaning kit?** A: The Patch fixture is universal with a size 8 thread shank & 32 tpi, Universal means it fits 99.98% of all cleaning rods & kits that's sized SAE. However; Some metric sized kits might present a problem if only one size comes in the kit & its not universal.
